My parrot doesn't scream because I leave the room (though it does do it from time to time) what it really does is when I'm talking to someone or answer the phone... it will scream or prattle and ramble and shout which is very annoying. My clients thinks a child is crying for my attention. Especially when it starts screaming "Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom...." So.. I saw a clip that showed how to stop it... if I leave... but what if I'm still in the room... but talking to someone else??

  2. what kind of bird is it??   from what i know, most birds tend to kind of feed off the energy in the room. if their environment is loud or has a lot of commotion going on most of the time they will join right in. usually when i come home to my guys they get noisy cuz thats how they great me. when i clean their cages is when my blue crown likes to talk the most. i have the radio on and i am bouncing around and he gets excited and whats to be happy right along with me. but even when it's night time and im quiet and watching tv my parakeets will make noise just to hear themselves make noise. my blue crown will also scream a little when i leave the room. i tell him every time that i will be right back and by the time im downstairs he has stopped. birds just make noise really. there is not alot you can do about it but try to teach them what is acceptable. if you know of something in the room you're in that may kinda scare him a little (not to be mean but to teach him to be quiet) try holding it or placing whatever it may be near his cage whenever your on the phone. sometimes something scary will make them be quiet. sometimes it will make them scream louder or try to get away from it. 'feel him out' and see what may work for you.
