Parrotlets - single or a pair?

There is a lot of information on the web - some say keep them single they are happy on their own, some say a pair, will a pair be interactive with us and tame ?

  1. Most birds are flock animals and they do MUCH better when there are others of their own kind. I've got three caiques and I KNOW they're happy as a little flock. They even look at ME as part of their flock because when I'm home, they follow me all over my apartment.

    If you get them when they're young and interact with both of them equally and regularly, they'll do just fine.


  2. I would say so, they are very social since in their own natural habitat, they would be living in groups of up to 20.

    I tried Google Image, and every single picture shows them in 3`s or 2`s... so yes, go with pairs.
