Male parrots tend to be louder and talk more than females so if you're after a loud talkative parrot then choose a male. Females are quieter and less aggressive so if you want one which doesn't break as much stuff then choose a female.

Depends what you want, most people want a talkative parrot.

males because they are better talkers and are more tolerable to other species, people,pets and you. females tend to be more aggressive and tend to like only one person jasper my African grey (female)bit any male person that came into the kitchen in one case drawing blood since then i have manged to stop this thank goodness. when i asked other people why she was behaving like this they said it was typical behaviour of a female when it is in a Territorial mood. i have also heard that this is true of eclectus and cockatiels but i have met some lovely female African greys so you never know but if first time parrot owner go for a male, easier to handle.

if you are female a male parrot will more than likely get on better with you, my male grey is a little sweety he loves women but is not very keen on men.but you will have to get the parrot feather tested to find out what s*x they are anyway.

but with alot of love and care im sure a female will love you just as much.

What kind of parrot are you talking about, most parrots cannot be sexed without DNA testing. I don't think either is better than the other. Both male and female will get hormonal as they get older and can become hard to handle. Just make sure you know what you are getting yourself into, a parrot is a lifelong commitment, do your research.

Makes no difference what s*x they are...it all depends on how they are being raised....either one will eventually pick their favorite flock member!
