Part 1: Napoli vs. Fiorentina – Italian Serie A Review
Napoli’s chase to the top of the table was denied by the well-organized Fiorentina who were able to hold the home side. The match ended in a goal-less draw as Napoli were to entertain Viola.
Napoli are currently second in the Italian Serie A and are waiting for the chance to reach the top of the table where AC Milan are sitting confidently. However, their chances of closing the gap between the table toppers were slowed down by a goal-less draw
in San Paolo which means that they will have to wait for one more week to see whether they can meet up with AC Milan at the top of the table.
The Partenopei started the game positively and dominated in terms of possession and shots on target. However, most of the chances that they took were from long range and it was easy for Artur Boruc to deny the home team the opportunities to score goals.
Soon, the home team faded and Sinisa Mihajilovic’s men took charge. Even though Napoli looked to be the favourites to win the game, they simply could not find a way through the well-organized defensive walls of Fiorentina.
