Part 1: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 vs. Lorient – French Ligue 1 Review
Olympique Lyonnais were to face Lorient and it was Bafetimbi Gomis who helped the home team take all three points from the Ligue 1 fixture between the two teams. Lyon are now sharing 34 points and the second spot of the French Ligue 1 with Paris St Germain
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Lorient-c39153.
The visitors were stubborn during the first half, especially their goalkeeper Fabien Audard who kept on denying the home team with their shots on goal. However, Lyon did finally find a way through the Lorient goal stopper and scored just before the half
time. It didn’t even look to be a goal scoring opportunity when Bafetimbi Gomis took his shot on goal from the edge of the box. The ball bounced right in front of him and the striker worth 13 million Euros proved himself as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabien-Audard-c13136 was left stranded
and the ball went past him and found the back of the net. The striker took the ball so quickly that the Lorient goalkeeper couldn’t even judge the shot taken by him and Lyon started to lead the game.
The score line before the break was 1-0 for the home team and as the deadlock was broken by Lyon it was expected that they might come out with flying colours during the second. As expected, they did start the second half with enthusiasm and a positive vibe.
The home side scored another goal soon after the second half started.
With only 9 minutes gone in the second half, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yoann-Gourcuff-c37416 won a free kick outside the 18-yard box and decided to take it himself. The Frenchman’s shot on goal was deflected but it wasn’t well cleared by the visitors’ defensive walls and Kim Kallstrom found
the ball at his feet just outside the 18-yard box. The Lyon midfielder volleyed the ball inch perfectly as it blasted past Fabien Audard and found the back of the net as Lyon doubled their lead.
The French Giants were simply not finished yet. It didn’t take the home team long to put the third past Fabien Audard to triple their lead and also putting an end to the hopes of Lorient making a comeback. The Les Gones full back Anthony Reveillere found
the ball at his feet after a wonderful pass from Jeremy Toulalan. Reveillere crossed the ball into the danger zone and managed to deliver it “inch-perfect.” http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kim-c20955 Kallstorm was the one on the other side of the cross but he totally missed the ball as it fell
perfectly for Bafetimbi Gomis. The striker whose name was already on the scoreboard headed the ball into the net and after hitting the cross bar, the ball fell inside the goal as the score line grew to 3-0.
It took Bafetimbi Gomis only ten more minutes to get close to his hat trick. The French striker was left all alone as the Lorient defence line made a mistake. The Frenchman easily got past three Lorient defenders and chipped the ball towards Fabien Audard’s
goal as he was rushing forward to save the fourth goal.
