Part 1: Predicting the Starting 11 of AC Milan
Associazone Calcio Milan, the Italian club which is commonly known as AC Milan has recently bought players that are going to totally enhance them as a team. The two newly signed attackers and a centre midfielder is enough to take the team to win matches as both the positions can help the team with scoring goals. Moreover, if the players are not just good but in fact legendary goal scorers, then things get even better.
Milan started off in 1899 as a club made by the English lace maker Herber Kiplin. The Italian team only got relegated for two years, back in the 1980s but they have mostly played in the Italian Serie A.
During their time as a football club, they have managed to win 18 titles that are recognized by UEFA and FIFA. Considering this fact, Milan are only in line with Boca Juniors who are the only club that has managed to win the same amount of titles. No other club even comes close to them in winning the gold. The titles include the International Club that they have won three times and the FIFA Club World Cup that they have won once. Milan has also won the UEFA Champions League 7 times. The Spanish giants Real Madrid are the only team who are ahead of them and have won 9 titles. Besides the big competitions, they have won the UEFA Super Cup for a record number of 5 times and have also won Cup Winners’ Cup twice.
In Italy, the club has won 17 league titles and this year the club’s city rivals Inter Milan won the title and made AC Milan the third most successful club in the Italian league. Now Inter Milan are the second best in the Italian league as they have won 18 titles while Juventus still leads all other teams by winning 27 league titles. AC Milan has also managed to win 5 Coppa Italia titles along with five Supercoppa Italiana triumphs. The 17 time Serie A winners are still waiting to win a European Cup, which is the only major competition the club has entered and not won.
The home ground of the club is the San Siro and the famous Italian stadium is shared by two clubs that are actually city rivals when it comes to playing football. The other club that shares the ground with AC Milan is Inter, the current champions of the Italian Serie A. The ground is recorded to be the largest in Italy. Even though they are going through a lot of financial crises lately, they are still regarded as the wealthiest clubs in Italian and World football.
This year, things have changed a bit for AC Milan as they have been underperforming for the past few years. The former coach could not really do wonders with the team as the squad is mostly above 30 years of age. This season, the club decided to change the coach. Massimiliano Allegri is the new appointed coach. Allegri changed a few things round and bought in new players to change the cause of the game and Milan have again become a very tough side.
The new coach, Allegri has bought a few strikers and a new centre midfielder to strengthen the squad. If he plays a 4-5-1 (4-3-3) in Milan, the squad could look like this:
Marco Amelia (Goalkeeper):
The new coach finally decided to make this “new” change to the squad. Last season the reason why AC Milan were suffering with goals was because of the two goalkeepers who were not coming up to the mark. The defensive lines for Milan have always been great as Maldini and Nesta are the two legendary defenders who have played for the club and one of them is still performing for the Italian club.
Marco Amelia is definitely going to be a good addition to the team as the goalkeeper has joined from the other Italian club Genoa. The coach decided to loan him in and the current AC Milan number 1 is definitely going to be a part of the team.
The 28 year old “experienced” goalkeeper has played for many clubs as he started his career from Roma and has performed with other teams like Livorno, Lecce, Parma, Palermo and Genoa. He has been out on loan tonnes of times and loaning such players only allows them to get better. Allegri is definitely going to give his number 1 a chance this year as Abbiati and Dida, both, did not really come up to the mark last year. Marco Amelia is simply a great signing for the Italian club.
