Part 1: The Biggest Moves of The Summer - Javier Hernandez
Ever since the transfer window opened, we saw some dramatic and spectacular transfers take place. Some of the best players in the world changed teams and made their way across continents.
The transfers varied from Thierry Henry going to the New York Red Bulls to Mesut Ozil joining Real Madrid and Van Der Vaart going to Tottenham. Some of the age old transfer problems were also finally silenced, like Robinho finally joining a team.
Keeping all of the above in mind here is a look at some of the biggest transfers that took place this summer.
Javier Hernandez: Last season, Manchester United were one of the favourites to win the English Premier League. The team was performing at its best. Most people were assured of the fact that United would end up winning the Premier League with ease. This was because amidst the team, there was one player who was standing head and shoulders above the rest.
Wayne Rooney was a goal scoring phenomenon for United last term. The player managed to go all out, in every game that he played. The player scored thirty four goals and was in leading contention for the golden boot award till he was over taken by Didier Drogba on the final day of the competition.
However despite Rooney playing as good as he was there was one small problem in the team; no other player seemed to get on the score sheet. Rooney’s immediate partner upfront was Dimitar Berbatov, the player who United brought in after breaking their all time, transfer record. The player managed to score only a handful of goals, twelve to be exact. It was the lack of partnership that ultimately led to the team not lifting the trophy at the end of the season.
Alex Ferguson was well aware of this fact and immediately went on to look for a striker to help partner Rooney up front. While most people expected the manager to recruit a big name player like Karim Benzema, the manager did the exact opposite and signed a player who no one had heard of. The manager turned to Chivas Guadalajara a team based in Mexico and signed their forward, Javier Hernandez.
Right after being signed the player went on to join the Mexican national team in South Africa. However the only thing that was going to be different for the player this time, would be the fact that the whole world would be watching him. The player knew about this and managed to impress everyone watching. The player was one of the best young players at the tournament. The player even managed to score two goals against Argentina and France.
The player had already started his rise to fame without even playing a single game for United. Once the World Cup drew to a close the player made his move to Old Trafford. Where he continued his impressive run in the pre season campaign. The player took part in almost every one of those matches and scored in every game that he played. The player out shone most of the big names on the side and started to make a name for himself in the team. His best achievement so far was to score the final goal against Chelsea in the Community Shield match, which saw United lift the trophy.
If Hernandez can keep up the form that he managed to show already, then United might just have a superstar in the making amongst their ranks. However everyone will just have to wait and see how the player turns out in the future.
