Part 1 : Top Transfer To The Premiership This Season
The brand new English Premier League season is about to commence this weekend. The transfer window leading up to this season has been in full bloom. Teams ranging from Manchester City to Fulham have all invested in quality players to help bring them success. Here is a look at the best transfers in the Premier League so far this transfer window.
When United signed an unknown Mexican who was called Chicarito, most people were wondering if Alex Ferguson had lost it. Javier Hernandez then went into the FIFA World Cup 2010 as a United player. With every one looking at every move the player made throughout the tournament, Hernandez did nothing less than impress all those on lookers.
He was arguably one of the best forwards at the tournament and knocked in two goals to show that he was here to stay. He then finally made the move to United after the conclusion of the World Cup. He has so far participated in every game United have played before the start of the season including the Community Shield game against Chelsea. So far he has gained an astounding record of scoring in every game he has played for United and most fans will be hoping that the player can continue this form when the season starts. If he manages to do just that, he could prove to be one of Ferguson’s best signings to date.
When Manchester City’s boss Roberto Mancini said that he wished to re haul the squad again, most people expected another handful of random signings. That however has not been the case this time. Mancini has carefully studied the game and brought in just the right amount of players for just the right spots. This time around he has actually put some thought into what he’s throwing all that money away for.
One of the thoughtful signings he has made has been of David Silva. Silva had previously been operating down the wings in the Spanish La Liga for Valencia. He was also a part of the rare group of players who were included in the Spanish national team despite not playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid. This is because eighty percent of the Spanish national team consists of players from both those clubs.
This achievement on its own shows just how good the player is. When City herd that Valencia were going through a financial crunch and were willing to let their players leave, they didn’t even need to think twice before making the club a bid for Silva that they couldn’t possibly refuse. Silva would prove to be a great addition to the Manchester City squad.
The team was already overflowing with more than capable strikers like Tevez, Adebayor, Santa Cruz and Bellamy, but the one area where they lacked players was on the wings. They possessed wingers like Shaun Wright Phillips and Bentley but they have proved over the years that they are highly inconsistent and aren’t good as long term prospects for the club. If Silva can produce the same quality and level of performances that he did for Valencia then, City could be on the verge of breaking numerous hearts this coming season.
City will be hoping that Silva can whip in the dangerous ball from down the wing and dip in to take the occasional shot. He can also naturally play on both wings just like Adam Johnson who is the only other competent winger at the Eastlands. That means that the pair would be able to interchange positions and cause havoc to the opposition no matter who they play against.
