The corner was also very well taken by the French Giants but Fabien again stepped up to save the day for his side as he flicked the ball clear.

Lovren leaped high to nod the ball into the net but Fabien Audard was there to punch the ball away and denied Lyon a shot on goal
yet again.
There were barely any shots on goal by the visitors. The goalkeeper Hugo Lloris enjoyed a very quiet night. He had almost nothing threatening coming at him as Lorient were busy defending their own goal. However, there was a free kick won by the visitors
during the hour mark and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Morgan-Amalfitano-c26799 got an opportunity on goal as well. Morgan had the ball bouncing
right in front of him and he decided to volley it on goal. Hugo Lloris was barely troubled by the shot as it did not dip on time and went over the cross bar as Lorient barely saw a shot on goal.
There was only one shot on target for the visitors and that too came from a free kick and was taken down well by the home team goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. On the other hand, Lyon had twelve shots on target and from among them, they utilized three as they found
the back of the net. Lyon also enjoyed 68% possession of the ball as they dominated the game in all the departments. Defensively Lyon were flawless and attacking wise as well. It was definitely a night to remember for the brace-scoring Bafetimbi Gomis who
is now a first-team regular for the French Giants.
It was simply an extraordinary performance by Lyon and it looked as if they were back into their stride after the New Year. This season Lyon were barely seen performing this way but with this win they would definitely feel good enough to win the French
Ligue 1 title. They are definitely a side to watch as they share the second spot with two other teams.
