Part 2 – Scottish Premier League - Match Review: Kilmarnock versus Rangers
Just sixty seconds after Miller missed the opportunity to take the score line to 3-1 in favour of Rangers, Killie scored their second goal of the match to bring the score line to 2-2. It was Hamill who found Sammon inside the Rangers penalty
area with an accurately fired ball. Sammon touched the ball with close control as he rounded off the move with a fine finish, a finish that gave him his 10th goal of the season for Killie.
It was a wonderful move with which was rounded off with a great goal. Rangers didn’t take the goal lying down and immediately hit back within the next five minutes of the match as in the 63rdminute Whittaker was on hand to
cross the ball into the Killie penalty area for Miller. This time, Kenny Miller made no mistake as he hit the ball first time into the back of the net for Rangers. It was a marvellous goal for Rangers who regained the lead through Miller’s third of the match.
In the 65th minute of the game, McGregor was called into action once again as this time the keeper dived to save Taouil’s shot from 25 yards out. It was an unbelievable save in the end by the Scotsman who kept his
team’s lead intact with yet another save. In the 75th minute of the match, Killie made their first change of the night as Harry Forester came on for Taouil for the home side. In the 83rd minute of the match,
Hamill came close to getting the equalizer for Killie as his shot from outside box just shaved the outside of the post. McGregor was nowhere near in sight for Rangers, thus if the shot had been on target it would’ve been a goal for the home side.
In the 84th minute of the encounter, Killie made their second change of the night as Rui Miguel replaced Kelly. Soon after Miller had a chance to get his fourth goal of the match as well as the fourth goal of the
encounter for Rangers but his shot was saved by the Killie goalkeeper Bell in the 86th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, McGregor was pushed to the ground by Pascali; the Killie midfielder was booked by
the referee as a result.
In the 91st minute, Killie’s defender Wright was booked by the referee for a late sliding challenge on Davies in the midfield area. At the end, the game turned scrappy as Rangers focused on retaining the possession
rather than getting their fourth goal of the match. The match eventually came to a conclusion with the score line at 2-3, in favour of the Glasgow Rangers.
