Part 2: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 vs. Bayern Munich – German Bundesliga Review
With the first half about to end, the home team were given a life line in the shape of a penalty kick. The young centre back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Holger-Badstuber-c16281 was issued a yellow card after a late challenge on Dejagah inside the box. It was the second penalty of the first
half and the Wolfsburg striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Kraft-c34971 managed to pull off a wonderful save as he tipped it enough to hit the cross bar. It was simply sensational
from the young goal stopper as he proved to everyone just why he was guarding the two poles ahead of the experienced Hans-Joerg Butt and why Louis Van Gaal had his trust in him.
Both the teams went into halftime after a lot of drama in the first half. There were two penalties missed, a goal was disallowed and also the only goal that stood was a goalkeeping howler.
With the teams returning after halftime, Bayern Munich started to dominate yet again. The Dutch star http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 finally started to show his old form as he show-boarded on his favourite right wing position. Soon, an opportunity to score a goal came towards
the Dutchman as he unleashed his trade-mark left-footed strike towards the goal. However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Benaglio-c11085 was present to block his shot and saved his team from going down further in terms of goals.
Later, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mark-van-Bommel-c24148 in the midfield. The referee only decided to award Bayern Munich with a free kick as the German Champions wanted the player to go off. There was good news and bad news for Bayern Munich
– the bad news was that their winger Frank Ribery went off after an injury. The good news was that their newly signed player, worth 15 million Euros, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luiz-Gustavo-c22844 made his debut during the 70th minute. Gustavo seemed to be gelling in with the new
team and even though he did not have an extraordinary night, he did “well enough” to impress the Munich crowd sitting in Volkswagen Arena.
After Sascha Riether’s equalizer, Bayern Munich were simply stunned and threw themselves upfront to find the winner. They did eventually find the back of the net and started celebrating after Thomas Mueller tapped the ball into the net. However, the goal
was disallowed as the FIFA World Cup 2010’s Golden Boot winner was waved offside.
The game ended in a draw as Munich remained at the fifth spot of the Bundesliga with 30 points. Bayern Munich now have to host Kaiserslautern next week. On the other hand, Wolfsburg dropped to the fourteenth position with 20 points after the draw. Now Wolfsburg
have to face Mainz next weekend.
