Part 3: Predicting the Starting 11 of AC Milan
As we countinue looking at the starting wonders of AC Milan, here's an overview of the next few players.
Andrea Pirlo: The Italian legend was injured during the FIFA World Cup 2010 but when he came back in his previous game, the fans literally saw the game change. Pirlo has been a great asset for Milan as he has helped them get out of troubled spots many times. Pirlo’s career was different other Milan players because he started off with the club Brescia and then joined AC Milan’s rival team, Inter Milan.
Later on, he was bought by AC Milan and the player who wasn’t really a success in Inter Milan became a legendary midfielder in AC Milan. He has been a part of AC Milan since 2001 and has appeared for the club for around 267 times. Pirlo is not only a great midfielder, he is also a free kick specialist and has turned many of them into goals.
In his recent times in AC Milan, he was a key player during the match against Real Madrid in the Champions’ League group stages. Pirlo was the man who scored a fabulous 30 meter goal as AC Milan won the match 3-2 to help them advance to the next round of the UEFA Champions League. Pirlo, at the moment, is 31 years old and he can definitely continue as a midfielder for the Italian club.
The new coach is definitely going to feature him in the first team and he is definitely going to be a part of the starting 11 as a defensive midfielder.
Massimo Ambrosini: He is currently AC Milan’s captain; therefore, he is definitely going to feature in the starting 11 of the team. He is amazing in air and outstanding at tackling the ball. He has been a part of the club since 1995 and the 33 year old Italian has been the key player for the club. He has appeared for Milan more than 250 times and has amazing leadership skills. He is one of those players, who are going to bring a bit of aggressiveness in the midfield and who is going to try to change the cause of the game.
Massimo Ambrossini is an amazing midfielder who is experienced and can see passes which no one else can. The midfielder has great vision and can also tackle the ball away from his opponents. Even at such old age, Ambrosini is able to run around the entire field to help his team win matches. He is not going to feature in the starting 11 just because of his captain’s armband; he is a fabulous player and the team really needs him to win matches.
Mathieu Flamini: He is also a young player in the Milan squad. He joined Milan from Arsenal back in 2008 and has gained a lot of experience during his time in Arsenal and Milan. He started his career from the French club Marseille and then joined Arsenal as a centre midfielder. He often appeared for the English club and now he is a first team player for the Italian club, AC Milan.
Even with such amazing talent, Flamini barely featured in the games that represented his country and barely got called up for France. He did not even feature as a French player during the FIFA World Cup 2010. This is probably Flamini’s last year to show the world what he is made of as he is currently not performing as he is supposed to.
Back in Arsenal he used to be a key player for the English club but has not really impressed during his time at AC Milan. The Milan fans are still waiting for the “real” Flamini who got lost somewhere after his transfer from the Gunners. Even though he did not really perform during the last season, he is definitely going to feature as a first team player and Allegri is going to give him a chance to prove himself because he is young and people know that he is a good player and he just needs more time to settle with the new team.
