Part 4: Experts Predictions for the weekend
The first round of the English Premier League came to an end on Monday night. Their were quite a few predictable and a whole lot of unpredictable events that occurred during the course of those three opening days of matches.
There were no surprises when Manchester United and Chelsea ran riot in their opening games. There were also no surprises when the likes of, Ryan Giggs, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba all made the score sheets in their opening games, in fact some might say it was what needed to be done.
However their were a few shocks in store. Blackpool's four nil thrashing of Wigan was something that came out of the blue. Also both the debutant's seeing red in the Arsenal, Liverpool clash was hardly something that could have been predicted.
Here is a look at what the expert's have predicted for week two of the matches that are set to take place in the English Premier League.
One of the most dynamic and young players to make an appearance in the opening week of the Premier League is, Albrighton. He ended a superb and lively performance against West Ham with a goal and assist, credited to his name
He also teed up Jame Milner to score his last goal in an Aston Villa jersey. This could just prove to be the symbolic representation that the Villa fans needed to find a new cult hero. Hardly any fan has been dull or gloomy every since Milner officially became a Manchester City player. Most of this is due to how superb Albrighton had been for Aston Villa in the past couple of weeks.
When the Aston Villa take on Newcastle, experts believe that it is a safe bet to say that, Albrighton will more than likely score another goal to add to his tally.
Newcastle are going to be in the relegation battle this year and a defeat at Old Trafford isn't something that surprised many. Newcastle will be relying on the talent of Andy Carroll to help them survive this season and will also be looking to the striker to help provide a goal or two against Aston Villa so that the match isn't as one sided as the experts are expecting it to be.
A home game for Everton against the Wolves will be a fixture that the team would be looking to win. However experts strongly believe that the Toffees could drop some points at home.
Last week a rare Tim Howard blunder saw Everton loose an opening day match to Blackburn. Blackburn were easily the weaker team but even if a weak team is given such opportunities they tend to take them. Everton are more than likely to suffer deja vu this weekend. They will be facing a struggling Wolves who will be looking to beat the odds if given the chance.
Everton were not as sharp last season when their talisman, Mikel Arteta was out due to injury for most of last season. However with the Spaniard back on the side, Everton might just be able to perform better this season. If the team can hold it together and not get complacent while facing the Wolves than they might just gain the three points that they expect to get from the match.
Experts say that the match is more than likely to end in a draw. However that draw will be determined by two conditions, the first being that Wolves give it their all and the second being that Everton fail to capitalize on their chances for a second week running. However Everton also have an outside chance to winning as long as they manage to hold it together and string together some amazing midfield moves with Arteta back on the side.
