Part 4: The top impact signings of the summer
The summer transfer window is rapidly nearing a close. Over the course of the last couple of months there have been numerous players going in and out of clubs. Here is a look at some of the transfers that would be make an impact, this coming season. It however remains to be seen if the impact made by these transfers is positive or negative.
Javier Hernandez: Manchester United against all odds put up a tremendous battle till the last minute to take home the English Premiership title. The most in form player for the team last season was Wayne Rooney who found the back of the net on thirty four occasions for the team.
At the end of the season Alex Ferguson, claimed that his current United squad was near perfect and didn’t need any changes or additions. Despite saying that the manager decided to sign some unknowns. One of the players that he signed was Mexican forward, Javier Hernandez. Hernandez was employed by Chivas before singing for United.
Ever since signing for United, the player has shown a tap in of form that has already propelled him to super star status. The player has been scoring goals for fun lately. He even managed to score a wonderful goal against the World Champions Spain and gave the team a run for their money.
Hernandez scored a goal in every single one of United’s pre season matches and even netted a goal in the community shield game against Chelsea. If he manages to keep that form throughout the season, then United will have on their hands, two strikers that could easily rip apart any defence. Some might argue they already have Dimitar Berbatov, however he hasn’t proven himself to be the same player he was at Tottenham.
If Hernandez, or ‘Chicharito’ as he is called can help inspire the team to attack even better, than United might just be on their way to winning their twelfth Premier League title.
Ramires: Ramires had been the most outstanding player for the Benfica side all of last season. He even played in his first ever European competition and did rather brilliantly and was on the recieving end of applause from almost everyone who saw the player perform.
Ramires was part of the Brazilian World Cup side. He was one of the outstanding players amongst a group of players who just didn’t perform up to par. After studying the player for a season and then watching him perform in the World Cup, Ancelotti decided to sign him.
Ramires has the unique ability to play in almost every single position in the midfield. He will without a doubt add to the options that Ancelotti has in front of him for the coming season. Ramires has often been called Essien junior over the past and he might just get to play with the player, who he has been compared with.
If the two can manage to form a partnership, then it would be devastating for the rest of the Premier League. Both the players hardly ever tire and tend to go on forever, the two of them partnered with Frank Lampard, means that Chelsea have one of the strongest midfields in the world of football at the moment. This partnership, could prove to be the make or break for Chelsea’s upcoming season.
The addition of Ramires would also help give players like, Essien and Ramires a break in between the fixtures that lay in store for the team. None the less Ramires could just be the player that Chelsea needed to help them retain their crown of being English Champions.
