Part 5: English Premier League: Players that need to be sold by their clubs

The summer transfer window has been open for what seems like forever now. Most teams have had players coming in for almost every possible position that anyone can think of. Almost all of the time everyone has talked about the players that need to be brought into the team to make an impact on the side or what player could fill the missing void to help steer the team to success.
While the addition of some players would make a significant change to the side, the exclusion of some players could prove to have almost the same impact on the side. Here is a look at players that teams could do without and would most probably even perform better without.
Anderson
Anderson was initially considered to be the next Ronaldhino, due to the amazing performances that he gave week in and week out as a Porto player. Although still a teenager the player showed class, technique and determination way beyond his years. This style of play from the player saw Manchester United spend a whopping eighteen million pounds on the player.
The player was brought in to be the future successor to the throne of Paul Scholes at the team. However he is a long way from doing that. Ever since arriving in 2007 Anderson hasn’t even looked as good as he was expected to be. In fact he has become a burden on the team. He is constantly holding play back and showing more than enough lapses when on the ball. These have resulted in United losing some crucial points during the season last term.
In the players defense he has also shown some signs of pure class. He has gotten a few assists over the years but not as many as were expected off him.
The best option that United and Alex Ferguson have in front of them, is to let the player leave for a season of two on loan. That way he would be able to gain all the experience that he is required to posses in order to try and replace Paul Scholes in the future for the team. It would be a long term benefit for both the team and the player if he is allowed to leave. Also there is no option of United selling the player, since no other team would be willing to match the fee that they paid for the player.
Steven Pienaar
The South African player, has been one of the best players to emerge in the football world from Africa for a long time. He is also easily one of the best players at Everton right now. The player is quick, cunning and can deliver some defense splitting passes, while taking the odd shot or two that end up in the back of the goal.
However the player only rode to the starting eleven following the departure of the Spanish wizard, Mikel Arteta from the team for most of last season, due to injuries that he picked up.
Arteta is now fit and rearing to go at it from the start of the new season. This could quite potentially spell the end for Pienaar at the club. He has been constantly threatening the club that he would leave them, if they didn’t increase his wages.
He has also refused to renew his contract with the team. This could only mean that he is going to be on his way out of the club sooner rather than later.
There have been numerous teams that have shown interest in the player. Those teams include the likes of, Manchester United, Liverpool and Juventus. It would help Everton get rid of a player who is surplus to their requirement while at the same time it would help them get some profit of the players sale. Which would allow the team to invest in other players to help strengthen weaker parts of the team.
