Get the yellow page look under housing associations and enquire. Most housing associations offer some type of "Shared Ownership". You can buy 25,50,75% of the equity and pay rent on the the rest, in some cases the chance to buy all the equity in the future. You need to be aware under this system you will be responsible for all the repairs and maintenance. Failure to pay the mortgage or the rent can lead to you being evicted.
