  1. Nucleus controls the activities of the cell.


  2. Yeah... I would go with nucleus. For one thing, it's the "brain" of the cell (controls all the cell's activities). Cellular reproduction is basically: copying genetic info, splitting into two cells - each new cell with its own set of genetic info. And since the nucleus has all the cell's genetic info stored in chromosomes, I would again go with nucleus. The other parts don't seem as important in reproduction anyway...
