Ex. Casamayor is the interim WBC Lightweight champ, so what does this make David Diaz? Thanks

It means the interim champion is like the subistiute champion he is champion intil the real champion comes back from injury or whatever the case and then the intrim champion gets the title shot aganist the real champion. David Diaz is injured so Casmayor is champion intil he comes back. Then Casamayor will get a title shot anganist David Diaz when he comes back
