Parthiv Patel eyes Test cricket – Cricket News Update
Having been patented as one of the few causal One Day International (ODI) batsmen for India during the team’s recent defeated tour to England, top order player, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Parthiv-Patel-c2159 now eyes a spot on the side’s Test roster.
“I have played in 28 ODIs and have done well so far. I scored quite a few runs in the ODIs with a couple of half centuries which gave me confidence. But I am yet to cement my place in the Test side,” said Patel.
The batsman further added that he will aim to make the best use of his participation in the upcoming Irani Cup, which will serve as a potent opportunity and a stepping stone towards Patel’s Test career.
Moreover, having been picked on the Indian ODI squad for the team’s upcoming home series against the archrivals England, Patel also vows to stand strong for the Men in Blue.
However, when asked about his team’s recent performance in England, Patel said that his side could not do well there due to unsuitable conditions and cited that, “we would enjoy home conditions. There is nothing like revenge but we are looking to comeback
strongly.”

As for the final leg of the trip, despite pushing the Poms a little hard this time, the Men in Blue trailed into losing the 5-match ODI series as well.
However, it was due to a small lot of players, such as Patel, who did manage to give the hosts a little rough time on the field; as most of the injury stricken ‘senior’ Indian players warmed the benches.
Opening all 5 matches for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Huzefa-Mohammed-Patel-c63657 scored a total of 172 runs, at an average of 34.40, including his best performance worth 95 runs, on the opening match at the Chester-le-Street, on September 3, 2011.
With the Irani Cup around the corner, and then the home series against England, Patel has some tough assignments ahead of him, as the batsman c*m wicket-keeper embarks on his fruitful Test career.
