Parthiv Patel urges young Indian players to shine against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 – Cricket news Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Parthiv-Patel-c2159, the top-order Indian batsman, has admonished his young teammates to perform well in Team India’s ongoing ODI series against England and shine in the eyes of the selectors. He believes that it is an ideal opportunity for them to cement their
places in the team.
Parthiv argues that the youngsters have additional responsibilities to shoulder in the absence of some of the senior players like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/G-Gambhir-c1447.
He opines that playing against an ace team like England at their backyard will prove to be greatly helpful for them to polish their skills and register their strengths.
Currently, India’s ODI squad, which is facing the English in the 5-match series, includes at least three fresh faces like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Vinay-Kumar-c2237 who have been inducted to replace the injured seniors.
Talking to the media, Parthiv said, “It's a good opportunity for youngsters to prove themselves. If they do, it would be good for themselves as well as the team.”
Parthiv, who opened the innings in the abandoned 1st ODI and scored 95 off 107 balls with the help of 12 fours, aims at extending this momentum to rest of the matches and steer his depleted side to win the series.
He churns out that he will continue to play his natural game which always helps him score confidently.
He told, “I would play my natural game. Personally, I don't need to change my game. I scored with it in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 and in the first ODI."
The batsman reveals that he trained himself for the short-pitched balls during his team’s Test series which, he thinks, they lost due to their inability to face such type of deliveries.
He stated, “I had the advantage of watching England's bowling in Tests. They had a plan to bowl short to our batsmen. In the 7-8 days I was in National Cricket Academy (NCA), I prepared myself against short-pitched bowling.”
The 26-year-old left-handed batsman has played 24 ODIs so far, scoring 532 runs. He is looking to make his maiden century in this series.
