  1. Okay I am not qualified since I didn't look at those links? Hopefully, my observation of liberal and conservative elected officials for 40 years..will suffice.

Although he hasn't been in the Senate long Obama still gets high marks for his liberalism from leftists, so big spender fits him here.  Everyone with half a brain knows that Obama will let congress "force the issue" of letting the Bush tax cuts expire, so big taxer fits him here.   Obama would prefer government take a big role in everyone's health care, and these things cost huge bucks ..ever seen the payroll for highly paid bureaucrats with cradle to grave fringes in even a relatively small government operation?  Big spender fits Obama here.  Obama said that teachers need higher pay and he will increase federal funding for education.  HUH?  Hour for hour teachers make nearly what your family doctor makes (oh yes...it is the horrible truth) and most do a poor job to boot.   And if raising taxes to pay for all his grandios plans is what one calls fiscally responsible then Western Europe may be a better venue for Barack Obama, and a derserving home for his followers. And they love him in Europe.

Incidentally, lower taxes on capital gains means dimishing returns and is like eating the seed corn, but Obama says higher capital gains taxes are only fair.  Class warfare seems to trump the numbers in Obama's view.

On the other hand, although McCain has many flaws, he has never sponsored or favored a single "earmark" (spender-speak for pork) for Arizona because he thinks they are usually wasteful, and really doesn't care to send something up to the Oval Office that hasn't been voted on (didn't know pork is added without a vote?) You have to pry this stuff out of the leftist news media.  McCain has no plans to expand the federal government and will try to stop the Bush tax cuts from expiring.

Holding the line on tax rates will help the economy grow.

Anyone that thinks Obama is the more fiscally responsible got shafted when they thought they were learning sociology or government.

  2. just look at bill clinton, a supposed "tax and spend liberal," next to our last four republican presidents. you might be surprised.

  3. Last I checked McCain was the Presidential candidate (that's what the Republicans keep saying to defend Palin right?) and he has openly admitted he does not know fiscal matters.

  4. Obama will do better than McCain possibly could.

  5. If one likes nation building and putting our people second, then the choice is clear, McCain/Palin

If one likes putting the people first and still keeping a strong military, the choice is clear, Obama/Biden

Both are fiscally irresponsible to some and responsible to others.

    I put people first.

    Peace

    Jim

    .

  6. Personally, I don't believe that either candidate will be fiscally prudent.  I think that fiscally prudent has become an oxymoron in Washington, D.C. and in politics.

  7. That guy with Air bus lobbyist on board? And the $30 billion Air Bus Contract was suppose to go to europe instead of America?

Oh and the lobbyist was his adviser he finally kick away from public eyes?

Or that guy with KEATING five scandal?

Or that guy who cheated and left his crippled wife for a millionairess?

Or that guy who voted for stupid Iraq war that needed America to borrow from China?

That guy who voted for Bush policies 95% of the times and turn around to condemn his own vote/GOP?

America economy is so good they sent us check via the post just like ALBERTA Canada?

    Wake up.

That guy thinks economy is good and will not fix a good economy.

He does not even remember how many houses he owns.

He is a disaster in the makings with all his anger out bursts, poor sense of judgment and lack of insight which are hall mark signs of dementia.

  8. tax and spend democrats or spend and spend republicans?  I think a balanced budget is more fiscally prudent personally.

  9. McCain he ahs plans that make sence cut taxes and cut spending Obama's don't cut taxes and raise spending how will that work?

  10. The evidence is the last 16 years should tell you that one.  In 2000 a surplus in the national budget, in Social Security.  The overall wages were up $2,000 form the prior administration.  There we also had a debt.  There were not increase in the cost of living wages because OUR dollar was worth a dollar.  You cannot find a descent job and if you have one if you re-elect another republican your chances are about slim to none that A.  you will be able to keep it.  B.  It will not give you any raises without firing FIRST a couple of thousand on the flip side.

Banks are failing and they have predicted in the year 2008........ 700 hundred banks will have fallen.

Now I am going to give you 2 guesses and one is not right.

  11. Mccain i do believe.

  12. A.B.A.R.

    Anyone

    But

    A

    Republican

  13. Well, the taxpayers have already bailed McCain out for $20 million as his share of responsibility for the savings and loan scandal in the 1980s. He and his cohorts who were the Keating Five engaged in racketeering that set off the S&L scandal. Millions of people lost their homes and millions of farmers lost their homes, land and livelihood.  In truth McCain and his friends cost America much more than the $124 million, but I'd be satisfied with McCain paying back his $20 million share plus interest.

  14. I believe Obama will be because he's got a comprehensive plan of where his dollars are going and where they're coming from. McCain wants to continue the Bush tax cuts while at the same time continuing the Bush plan for Iraq. It doesn't really matter how much pork you've got if you're trillions of dollars in debt. Everyone's money is worth less, so everyone loses. From a government perspective fiscal prudence should be more about generating positive cash flow than about not spending money.

  15. McCain and Palin, obviously.

Good lord, the woman banished use of private jet and a private chef per what a governor usually gets, saying there was no need for the state to spend stupid money on that stuff...

Besides, with Sarah being the awesome down-to-earth woman that she is, no secret service needed...she'll just call some of her friends to walk around with her and she'll be carrying herself...you GO, girl...you rock!  And soon, you'll RULE!

  16. Ron Paul.

He doesn't take the Congressional pension program, never voted to raise taxes or for an unbalanced budget, and returns a portion of his Congressional office budget to the treasury every year.

    Next question?

  17. You don't need other websites, just look to the last 8 years and what  it's done to our country's economic standing in the world.

  18. McCain wont spend as much

  19. the libertarians would

but it takes more than just voting Bob Barr , it takes voting for Libertarians for the other offices also.

  20. Well when you raise taxes on major US corporations you send even more US jobs overseas so I'd have to say that Obama is certainly less prudent than McCain because he wants to raise taxes against US corporations.

  21. McCain.

  22. The ONLY president in 30 years to fulfill Republican promises to cut spending, cut deficits, and shrink government was a Democrat.  Reagan tripled the entire pre-existing national debt but well into his second term was swearing his tax cuts would boost the economy enough to pay down his deficits.  GHW Bush also promised he could balance the budget in 3 years.  It was ONLY Clinton who reduced spending and who gave the middle class a small tax cut.

GW Bush's deficits are the worst in history NOT COUNTING the cost of the Iraq War.  And McCain is not able to distance himself from Bush one millimeter.  How is a green 1/2 term ex-governor as vice president going to help?

  23. Ok,I did look at the links just so I could say I did, but was gonna say McCain anyway.

  24. This same topic was on CNN AC360 couple weeks ago

the consensus was that regardless of who is picked, it is virtually impossible that Obama or McCain will be able to be "fiscally prudent"

this is mainly because this president will have so much to do

    Here is a list

1.Natioal Security- with iran's nuclear threat, N Korea going offensive, Russia being beligerent,

    2.  War on terrorism- War in Iraq, the resurgency in Afghanistan

    3. Global warming- a problem that can not be stopped by america alone, more hurricanes, and tornadoes

    4. change of power- India and china growing

    5. Falling dollar value- the dollar is near an all time low, and with foreclosures and high food prices, it means trouble

    6. Health care- a problem that every priesident has tried fixing after roosevelt, and the baby boomers retiring

With such a problem, and such short time, it is impossible to manage the budget
