I think you would do better researching on the web. Famillies where split up and parts of the nation forced to decide whether to live in India or Pakistan.

it doesnt really matter...the indo-pak war regarding kashmir is the only problem...otherwise,we are pretty happy,safe and peaceful here in india...it did not make a difference to many of us!
