Partizan Termoelektro BEOGRAD loses to Zaksa KEDZIERZYN-KOZLE – 2012 CEV Champions League
The Partizan Termoelektro BEOGRAD of Serbia contested with the Zaksa KEDZIERZYN-KOZLE of Poland recently in a 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League match.
The contest between the two sides was staged in the Serbian city of Beograd where the preliminary round of the championship is taking place.
The two teams put on a good show of volleyball skills that worked the right way to thrill and excite the spectators who had come to watch the match. Zaksa and BEOGRAD put up a good fight against each other that took five long and gruelling sets to reach
its culmination.
By the time that Zaksa was able to achieve a win, the scoreboard showed the following final set scores, 25-23, 18-25, 25-20, 23-25 and 16-18.
A player from the Polish squad, Serhiy Kapelus, expressed himself in the following words after the match had come to its end, “We did not expect such a resistance from Partizan, but they had nothing to lose and played in front of a great audience.”
On the other hand, the coach of the Partizan squad, Milan Djuricic, shared his views in the following manner at the press conference that was conducted after the match had reached its close, “I think we played well and we have left a good impression after
this campaign in the Champions League. We were assigned to a strong group but we provided all opponents with good resistance. Tonight we just lacked a little luck to take the game.”
The first set of the match saw the guests take the lead early on at 8-5. The home team tried to close in the gap but they could not succeed in over taking their opponents as Zaksa still maintained the advantage at 16-13. However, the home team was able to
close in the gap and bag themselves the opening set of the game at 25-23.
The second set of the match saw Zaksa leading until 22-16 after which the guests put on a spurt of speed to head for the set win at 25-18.
The home team responded by bagging the third while the fourth on went to Zaksa at a close call. The final set of the game saw a tough fight but ended in favour of the guests.
