Partly Sunny/Partly Cloudy?

What is the actual difference between weather which is partly sunny or partly cloudy?

partly sunny means it's mostly clouds in the sky with little sun.. partly cloudy means it's sunny with a little bit of clouds in the sky..

It has to do with percentage of clouds in the sky. Partly sunny is between 25% and 50% cloudy and partly cloudy is 50% to 75% cloudy. Mostly Sunny is 1% to 25% and Mostly Cloudy is 75% to 99% cloudy and sunny is 0% cloudy and cloudy is 100% cloudy.

I heard this explained by a meteorologist once - it has to do with the percent of the sky that is covered with clouds.  I wish I could remember the actual numbers but partly sunny means more cloud than sun and partly cloudy means more sun than cloud.  Either way it's a good day for the beach!
