  1. You'll need to consult an attorney.

The easiest way to go about this may be to terminate his rights as the father based on abandonment & then have your current spouse adopt, but only a laywer can really accomplish this

  2. do not adopt!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Overseas laws may be different, but the standard legal practice is that the fathers parental rights would need to be terminated...either by the state or voluntarily before your partner can adopt. You need to consult a lawyer or local child services office, each region has different legal rules and policies, and wait periods.

  4. You will have to see a family court lawyer. The bio father will have to sign the adoption papers and from what I have read he might cause problems.

My ex also wanted to adopt my daughter (previous relationship) but we discovered that I would have to also give up my rights to her and we adopt her as a couple. I wasn't willing to give up my rights and he didn't want me to either so she settled with taking his surname. You can request the schools to call her what you want. When we got married she was able to go on our medicare card with his surname too. There are other ways that she can take his name.

  5. talk to a lawyer he can tell you the laws concerning adoption in your area

  6. I think you would need his permission. But I don't know want the law is over there since I am in usa.. But I would talk with a lawyer and tell want he does.. Then they would go from there. That would be best way to go to see a lawyer.. Good Luck.
