  1. I don't know how old you are and if this is a party with just girls or guys and girls.  First you pick your theme, then you can pick your food and decor, etc.  If you are having a party with just girls you can do a scrapbooking party or a spa party (where a team of women come to your home and do manicures/pedicures).  If this is a party with guys and girls you could do a toga party (where everyone has to wear a toga), a 70's theme party (mini-dresses, platforms, bell-bottoms, tie-dye, disco balls, etc)., you could do a bbq with volleyball or other games or you could wait until october and do a halloween party.

  2. Big Screen TV with the hottest music videos out playing.  Don't turn on MTV or Music Choice - that's lame and tacky.  Change all light bulbs to reflect the theme of the party.  I usually use a combination of red, green and black lights.  $5 pizzas from Dominoes or Pizza Hut.  For Cinco, we get a lot of tacos.  Halloween cupcakes for that day.  Hot dogs and hamburgers for Labor  Day, Memorial Day.  Balloons are always fun.  Just a couple, though.  Fog machine on the dance floor.  Ash trays outside, or else you'll be picking up a lot of butts the next day.  Lots of towels you won't need to pick up lots of spills.  Leave a deck of cards on a table.  Beer pong is popular these days also.  Keep it relatively dark in the house.  The pansies will complain early in the night about it being too dark, but it sets the mood as the evening progresses.  I have lots of secrets and ideas, but I don't want you guys stealing them all.
