Party Line eyeing an improvement at Newcastle
Party Line will be looking to improve her record at Newcastle, by winning the Gowland And Dawson Handicap in England on Friday, August 17, 2012. She will be up against some relatively easier opponents, which will help her to claim the cash prize of £2,264
from the class-5 event.
The punters might be a little confused today, as no runner can be declared as the outright favourite for victory. Due to this, they will have to be extremely careful before deciding anything.
They do have one option in the shape of Operation Tracer, who has been given the best odds by the bookies. It is a bit surprising though, as he has never managed to win any race in his career. Despite that, he is expected to make a string impression today.
However, the bettors might not risk money in favour of the young gelding. They will rather go with someone like Party Line, who has got a relatively better record. She has been priced 9 to 2 and has been doing a reasonable job during the ongoing season,
which will give hope to her fans.
The three-year-old filly has appeared at Newcastle in the past as well, but her performances have not been up to the mark. Her first race at this venue was in August 2011 and she entered it with a starting price of 25 to 1. Her speed was average back then,
thus she had to settle for fifth place in the end.
Next time, the Mark Johnston’s trainee did a slightly better job at this venue and finished as fourth overall. Today will be her third appearance on this track and her team will be expecting a solid run from her.
On the previous two occasions, the track at Newcastle was affected by rain. However, the going will be good today, thus there is a possibility for Party Line to improve her overall strike rate.
Montjeu’s daughter has participated in a total of 10 events in her career, but managed to win just once whereas finished as a runner up on the same number of times. Moreover, she has also secured the third spot on three occasions, which proves that she is
quite capable of challenging her rivals for victory. Her partner in the race will be seasoned jockey, Joe Fanning.
