I am hosting a PartLite Candle party. I have a bunch of dessert type snacks that I am making from scratch. What kind of salty food could I make to counter the sweets? Also what kind of drinks should I serve?? ( NO alcohol please).

  5. An easy punch is a frozen can or two of lemonade, a frozen can or two of cranberry juice - instead of regular water use carbonated water.  Or do whatever fruit juice combination you like.  But it looks pretty to float some lemon or orange slices on the top.  You can also freeze some juice as ice cubes to keep it cold.

I like what people said about  nuts and veggies and dip.

And now you've given me an idea of something else to blog about on my party blog.  Thanks!

  6. I had the same problem last week:) ....  try a dip with veggies or crackers to counteract all the sugar ....  Pretzel nuggets are nice (and not as plain as regular pretzels).  The honey mustard are really good  .....  a big bowl of specialty potato chips (Zapp's are good, and really different flavors - usually available in your grocery) ....  A mixture of dry roasted peanuts, white raisins, and dry roasted sunflower seeds ....  dried green wasabi peas .....

Get some frozen concentrate for strawberry daiquiri, and put in the blender with some ice...then add 7-Up   ....  or Mango Margarita mix (I've seen it in tubs too), but substitute 7-Up for the liquor
