Question:

Party Question? Would you come to a party like this?

My friend & I have very close birthdays. We are considering a joint party. Our theme would possibly be based on being green.

My ideas so far are: -All plates, napkins, & cups being recycled or able to be recycled. -Trash being separated into paper, plastic, & glass. -Decorations to be made of renewable resources & recycled things. -Organic food. -For the party favors to be small plants that were also used as the decoration for the party.

My concerns are that even though Evites would be the best option for our eco-friendly idea...I'm thinking we should look for something more personal. How could we make expensive looking (yet not actually expensive) invitations that are also eco-friendly?

I don't want to make this an awkward thing for anyone either. We just think being green is a good thing to do but neither of us are really obsessed with it. We just want to do something that's different, healthy for the environment, & a good example for our friends. What do you think?

  1. What a unique idea! I like it!

I think the organic food is a good idea, you could also support local produce from farmers markets or even fair trade food.

For tablecloths you could buy miss matched cloths from charity shops and when your finished with them return them to the charity shops.

Maybe some old cleaned out jam or spice jars with the label taken off and add fresh cut flowers from your garden or add a tea light.

You can get some really good quality recycled paper or even make your own you could even add green food colouring to it.

Then when dryed out use some fancy writing and stick dried flowers on to them.

Or as a laugh you could make it fancy dress and call it charity shop chic so everyone has to but their outfit from a charity shop and you can give out awards for best and worst dressed. I've been to one and it was really funny!

  2. I woudl come to the party just because your my friend but I htink the theme is pretty lame. No one wants to use recycled materials cause itll look like your just being cheap. and recycled decrorations will look cheap . The organic food is suh a horrible I dea I probably would eat anything at it  Id just starve because certain people don't like organic food. My party favor is hwat was used for ur decopration?!??!?!/this party souynds cheap rather than helpful. Evites are actually ok but  you cant make them look expensive on an email. I m not trying to sound mean but I most people after going ot this party would be turned off to this idea. I would NOT go UNLESS u were my BEST friend.

however now time for some helping for you. going green isnt bad its just your taking it to far. You could possibly have prized that are those shirts or bags that are from organic cotton . TRhay sell these at Victoria secret. Thats helping the environment but giving someone somethign theyd like. The plants for party favors is an ok idea. the decoprations and utensils shudnt b a cheap recycled party. Just make them green and green decorations so u keep the theme. for invitations u cud use the special paper made from cotton. For food you NEED regular food cause not everyone LIKE ORGANIC FOOD. i KNO I DONT. iM SORRY FOR HARSH REPLIES BUT THIS PARTY NEEDS TO B IMPROVED OR NO ONE WILL COME..please taje some of my advice so this party doesn not b a failure with 5 ppl. have fun=]
