Party RSVP's?

Question

Should I send out (via email) reminders to RSVP if we still have not received all responses by cut off date? Need to plan for food, etc.

Any kind of reminder is best I say as people do forget sometimes.

absolutely. you shouldnt have to i mean how hard is it to pick up the phone and let someone know you will be delighted to eat their food and drink their booze?? but some people just dont get it so i would if i were you. hope your party is a hit!!

It is sad to say that you sometimes have to force the guests hands as so far as getting them to commit to an invitation.  Its just rude.

So I say, that it is okay to email a reminder.  If that does not work then actually call the guests and pin them down on the number of people that are actually coming.

As so far as the email wording, give some ground rules, max. numbers of guest, weather or not children are invited, ect.  Again it seems sad, but nowadays people are willing to take advantage of a wedding invitation.  I have heard of times when a person was invited, and they invited three of his roomates (who didn't even know the bride or groom) in order to take advantage of the meal and free top shelf liquor.

Moral of the story, wedding invitor beware.

A reminder is a good idea.  Just don't keep bugging people about it because that gets annoying and will drive people away from your party.  A polite one time reminder is all you should do.
