I am having a masquerade ball, and my biggest problem is lighting.

It is in a 6mx9m wedding marquee.

I would like to set the mood by having partially low lighting,

But i need something functional. Because its hard to navigate in heels when it is dark.

I really need some suggestions.

Thank you guys.

Ps. excuse typos. XD I'm very tired.

  1. Gothic style chandeliers with candles would look great but could get risky with tablecloths, hair, etc. What about big strings of warm coloured fairy lights?

  2. japanese lanterns or candles.. i was in target the other day and i saw these funky candle lamps.. it has a shade over the wick and everything! perfect for  mood lighting.

  3. For my last party, we had a marquee and used fairy rope lights up each pole, and across the ceiling. I think it prvided enough light while still retaining some ambience, and they were fairly cheap, too!

By having the rope lighting, you can light the ground to show pathways, which might make it more manageable in heels!
