Party for a friend 19th(never plan a party before)?

Question

my friend is turning 19 and we are going to have a party for him.

what are some things we can do to make it good?

yes there is going to be alcohol, but me and a friend will not be drinking because there is going to be alot who havnt been drunk before and i dont need anything bad to happen.also cleaning lol.

Is this a good idea, if everyone payed $10-15 so i can pay for the present, cake and decoration?

I think the charge for 10 to 15 $ is a great idea. Parties can expensive. As far as alcohol...not a good idea to have . Depending on the stripper idea, I would consider who you could get to do and keep it clean :)

Well in Texas gambling is illegal so you can't play for money. But a poker party, casino or any game challenge is always fun and you will have to stay some what sober to actually enjoy all the fun.  You can puchase prizes for little money and the winner of each event receive prize. This way it will take some focus off of drinking (since you have to be 21 to gamble in vegas why not bring vegas to you).
