Nobu (in tribeca, sushi place)

Daniel's (ritzy, french high-end restaurant on the Upper East Side)

Alain Ducasse (if you can afford it, central park south area)

Le Cirque (french and italian food)

Picholine (if you can affor it but its very classy and nice)

for cheaper restaurants:

Sushi Samba (great, young crowd)

Union Square Cafe (great outdoor seating, young crowd and ChEAP no more than $100pp)
