Question:

Party party party?

Ok so I have several questions about my upcoming 4th of July party:

1) As far as fireworks go, does anyone know how far away from trees they should be? Because I really want to do some cool fireworks but I have sooo many trees in my backyard. I want it to be safe.

2) What are some cool decoration ideas? I will be using lots of flags and red white and blue balloons and streamers. Anything else?

3)Any other fun things I could have for my party? It's going to be mostly ages 17-22.

Thanks!!! =]

  1. 1) I don't think that's a problem. Just try to aim the fireworks away from the trees.

    2) Do red white and blue plates and cups. I'd make fun drinks with food coloring or do fruit punch, water, and a blue raspberry drink.

    3) If you're outside I would say to get some fun yard games like Cub or Bocci Ball.. for a quick and easy game I'd put together your own Baggo (ply wood with a hole and you throw bean bags). For the older ages I would say Beer Pong or Flip Cup.

If you're inside, I'd set up Poker, video game tournys (esp if you have Wii), music, board games for groups like Taboo, etc.

  2. sounds like fun.. I did "light up" party favors at our family 4th celebration and they were a huge hit with my kids and all their friends.. they are 20 -27. There are awesome chaser light flashing beer mugs on the web.. just search light up party favors.. check out our 4th celebration for some games too.

www.celebrationideasonline.com.. go to Family fun and then click on the 4th of July party idea link. We had a great time and our age groups were 8 - 80! The college kids as well as the older ones had a blast. They stayed the entire time. Good luck and have a happy 4th! No info on fireworks here, they are illegal by us so I have no experience other than to make sure you check the wind.. you may think you are far enough from trees but if wind is blowing it may send sparks into the bushes or trees..Be safe.. Enjoy!

  3. I don't know exactly how far, but just make sure your not too close with the fireworks. For decorations you could do christmas lights around the party area. I bet oriental trading would have some light up beer mugs, which would be cool. Other things you could do are strip volleyball! That's a fun game!
