Party themes?

Question

my friend once had a Hollywood themed party. I would love a themed party but the only ideas I have had are the sixties and masks. Any other suggestions on themes, how I could do them or could you elaborate on my earlier ideas...? eg: Grease...prom style, etc.

maybe you could have like a stars party. like ppl could dress up like actors or models and you could have like a night star wallpaper in the background. and u could also have like a red carpet or something that leads to the house. but it kinda is just like a hollywood party oh well hope i helped!!!

a super hero themed party. had one last month. people came as, superman, batman, wonder woman, incredible hulk, cat woman etc etc

I had a great haunted party a few summers ago. I got an old, big house, and spent two ays decorating and setting up surprises for the guests. I had a cassette tape of some scary dialogue which each pair of guests would at some point during the night take with them and go to one of the rooms of the house. Each recording (supposed to be ghosts talking) had a clue to a mystery. At  midnight we walked to a river nearby and dug up a fake corpse (which I planted before) to find another piece of the clue. At the end of the night, each couple made a guess at the answer, and the winning couple got a prize. It made for a very fun, unforgettable evening.

All About Me/My Favorites - This theme is all about you and your favorite things from food, to music, etc.

The Year you were born - based around all that was popular the year you were born.

Astrological - This is based on your Astrological sign and the colors associated with that sign.

Remember when - Pick an era! 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s. etc.

We're Kids again! - This party is just like the parties you had when you were a kid with pin the tail on the donkey, musical chairs, etc.  

Monochromatic - Pick a color and decorate in the tones and shades of that color, from light to dark and all the tones in between.  So if you choose blue, you would start with light blue, and work your way to dark blue.

Birthstone - This theme revolves around the color of your birthstone!  From decorations to the tablecloths, napkins, etc.  It would be all about your birthstone color!
