Parupalli Kashyap ousts Rajiv Ouseph in Men’s Singles first round of 2011 China Masters Super Series
Parupalli Kashyap, the top Men’s Singles shuttler in India displayed his elevated skills as he defeated Rajiv Ouseph of England in the Men’s Singles first round of the 2011 China Masters Super Series, in Changzhou, China, on September 14.
Kashyap has improved his skills during the last one year and has grown into a top-class player at international stage. He is currently number one in India and Number 23 in the world rankings in the category of Men’s Singles.
In the opening-round match of Men’s Singles, Kashyap made his mark over Ouseph in a convincing fashion as he played remarkable badminton and won the battle in three games by spending 46 minutes in the court. His aggressive approach in matches is the weapon
which enables him to win on crucial occasions in events.
The game remained equal in the first set of the match where both men played positive badminton. The control of the rallies was impressive from both sides and no one could manage a comfortable gap in the first-half of the game. Until the interval, Rajiv was
the leader at 11-10.
After the break, they engaged the crowd by playing attacking badminton throughout the set. The cracking sounds and powerful jump smashes from both players could be heard anywhere in the indoor arena. Kashyap made a few unforced errors and lost the opening
game to Rajiv with the score of 19-21.
Kashyap found his flow in the second set when he played a completely different game. He kept his opponent away from the net by pushing the bird back into his area. His planned game in the second set helped him in levelling the match as he clinched the game
with a 21-16 margin.
The deciding set between the two talented shuttlers was completely dominated by the Indian, who played with impressive precision. His finishing was just incredible as he missed no chance to put the bird down in his opponent’s court.
Kashyap won the deciding set in tremendous fashion with a remarkable score of 21-11. The opening match of Men’s Singles ended with a 19-21, 21-16 and 21-11 margin.
