Awana has been knocking at the door of Indian cricket for quite some time with some impressive performances in domestic cricket, but even a haul of 17 wickets from 12 matches for his IPL franchise couldn’t help his cause to make it into the preliminary list.
"I did well in IPL and was appreciated by everyone so I was obviously expecting my name top be among the probables for T20. But I'm not disappointed as I'm used to setbacks. I'll get back to work with more passion and better my performances in the future,"

"I think one of the reasons for my non-selection is the fact that I got injured on Caribbean tour so selectors might have thought that I'm not available for selection. But, I have already started running and training hard and within a week, I'll start bowling
at full tilt," said Awana.
