The Evian TG coach has praised the cash-laden club from Paris in the wake of 4-0 defeat at the hands of PSG at the weekend at Parc des Princes
Evian TG FC suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Carlo Ancelotti’s side in Paris on Saturday and coach, Pascal Dupraz is in no doubts about the superiority of the capital club.
While talking to reporters at a press conference, the Frenchman stated that everyone knows that Paris Saint-Germain are one of the strongest teams in the country and the players they have at their disposal tells the story.
Talking about Saturday’s game, the 50-year-old tactician said that he was aware of the fact that Paris Saint-Germain are a much stronger side and they are in a class of their own. The boss added that any doubts that he had about the capability of PSG are
vanished and he is more than certain of what the Ile giants can do on the pitch.
"Before coming here I thought PSG were stronger than us, and I'm now certain of it.”
Dupraz added that he was aware of the attacking threat Paris Saint-Germain pose to his side, and that was the reason why he opted to play five defenders. The boss said that he wanted to stop the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 and Menez from scoring against
Evian, but they proved too strong to handle at home.
“I put a system in place to try to cover our deficiencies and that's why I played five at the back.
Evian TG had to deal with a number of injury issues particularly in the area of defence, and according to the coach, the idea to play an extra defender was to provide extra cover in the defence. However, PSG proved too much for the visitors and cruised to
a 4-0 at home.
“The idea was to stop them getting in behind us, and to provide us with some reassurance because we were lacking central defensive specialists.”
Evian TG FC will take on ESTAC Troyes on Wednesday in their next game of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign.
