The Evian TG coach has hailed Les Parisiens and is of the view that the oil-money-fuelled club from Paris has what it takes to win the Ligue 1 crown this season
Les Croix de Savoie were crushed by PSG at the weekend when the capital side registered an emphatic 4-0 win at Parc des Princes. Evian TG FC played with five defenders but Paris Saint-Germain proved too strong for the visitors.
Evian coach, Pascal Dupraz was talking to reporters at a press conference and when asked about his reaction about Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at the hands of Carlo Ancelotti’s side at Parc des Princes, the boss answered that Paris Saint-Germain are a much stronger
side than Evian and they proved that on Saturday.
The 50-year-old said that his side lacked the required aggression for which they were punished. Criticising the way Les Croix de Savoie played on Saturday, the boss said that he expected more from his players but they caved to the pressure. PSG are arguably
the best team in the Ligue 1 but Evian should have done better out there.
“Unfortunately, the fact that the players were close together meant that they weren't aggressive enough, in the right sense of the term, with their opponents.”
Dupraz said that Paris Saint-Germain are a class apart and they have so many world class players at their disposal. Playing against a side like PSG is always tough and they showed on Saturday why they are genuine title contenders this season.
“They've got players capable of making the difference and we're not in the same league as them.”
The coach said that the match against the Paris giants was like a Champions League game for Evian. The 50-year-old is disappointed with the defeat but has urged the players to forget and move on.
Praising their Saturday’s opponents, Pascal Dupraz said that PSG will be competing for the Championelle this season and they are in a good position to achieve that feat.
“This match was like our Champions League, I didn't see a crisis-hit PSG here. I'm sure they'll be competing for the title and they are a club that's doing good for French football."
