Newly-appointed Genoa manager, Pasquale Marino, has expressed his desire of being given the managerial role at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

“I was struck by the conviction that President Enrico Preziosi showed when calling me this morning and we agreed a deal very quickly. His confidence in me made sure I didn’t think twice. This is the best Christmas present I could’ve
asked for. I had not been contacted by Genoa before this morning and I’m happy that it was all sorted out so rapidly.”
The former Udinese manager admitted that he will try to identify the problems behind the club’s recent struggles, and is hopeful of overcoming them in the near future. Marino also hinted at January arrivals, and admitted that he
will identify the players, who can lift the club.
“When we resume training I will try to understand where the problems lie. It’s important to get a good idea of where we need to make adjustments when the transfer market opens, so we can try to resolve those issues.”
The tactician hinted at signing of Juventus striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Amauri-c5381, who has also played under him during his Parma days. Marino is all-praise for the striker and admitted that he did well during his loan spell at Parma last season.
“Amauri did well with me at the Tardini. He hadn’t played in a long while and slowly got his form back. I’m sure some gifts will arrive from the club.”
