Club President, Enrico Preziosi, revealed yesterday that Genoa have agreed personal terms with the striker, and they are expected to seal a move in the next 24 hours. Genoa tried their luck with a summer bid for the former A.C
Milan striker, but failed that time.
The Marassi club have been plagued with injury-concerns upfront, and injury to their prolific striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rodrigo-c31437 Palacio, have forced them to dip in the market. Marino is delighted with the prospect of signing the Italian international,
and believes that he will be a great addition to the squad.
The newly appointed manager wants the striker’s signing to be confirmed as soon as possible, as he wants him to join the training soon. The former Parma boss is not sure whether they will sign any other player in the transfer window,
and insisted that they will analyse their options in the near future. The 49-year-old insisted that they will sign a new player if they feel the need to strengthen any area.
While talking to the reporters, Marino added:
“I hope that the transfer takes place as I want him in the squad quickly. We need a striker with the characteristics that he possesses. Other transfers? Before we make any other moves we’ll have to evaluate the players that we
already have at our disposal. If there is a need to intervene in any area then the club won’t hold back.”
Marino recently replaced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-c4309 Malesani as the new Rossoblu manager, but insisted that he would not set any targets for the season. However, he is looking to qualify for the UEFA Europa League next season. Genoa are currently
placed 10th in the league table with 21 points from 16 matches played thus far.
“I won’t set any targets or make any promises. I want to work hard and do the best we can. We have to give our best and the best for us will be qualifying for the Europa League.”
