Passage Vendome tipped to win Western People Maiden Hurdle
Passage Vendome is expected to win the Western People Maiden Hurdle at Ballinrobe in Ireland on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. The race is scheduled to start at 17:25 GMT. The stamina of all runners will be put to a test, as they will have to cover an overall
distance of 2 miles.
A total of 22 runners will line up for action in the event and their names are as follows: Dingaling, Passage Vendome, Foildearg, Beatsupreme, Celestial Prospect, Churchfield Champ, Dark Raven, Easyondeye, Finish The Story, Gizzit, Julie Prince, Kennoway,
Noble Pageant, Six Stone Ned, Skule Hill, Tornado King, Amigan Lady, Broadway Twist, Busyasabee, Great Oak, Theonewiththeleg and Vic Chic.
The bookies are expected to give the best odds to Passage Vendome, as he has a very good record compared to his rivals in the race. His recent form has also been good, thus the punters will be placing quite a few bets in his favour.
The six-year-old gelding has taken part in just one race over hurdles and his performance in it was quite impressive. Despite not being the favourite to win, he was able to give a tough time to his opponents and ended up second overall. He ran extremely
well throughout, but ran out of gas in the end.
However, that performance was more than enough to impress the bookies and the punters, who will be expecting the W. P. Mullins’ trainee to give a winning performance in the Western People Maiden Hurdle.
Passage Vendome was partnered by Emmet Mullins in his previous race and the pair did a decent job. The young jockey has just won a single race over hurdles in his career, but he has a good strike rate, which will help him attract a lot of bets in his
favour.
Emmet Mullins is likely to partner Passage Vendome once again in the race at Ballinrobe, but the final confirmation will made on Tuesday.
On the other hand, Dingaling will also be the one to watch out for in the race, as his overall record is good. He has entered six races over hurdles, but has not been successful in any of them. However, he has managed to secure the third spot on three
occasions, which shows that he is fully capable of fighting for top positions.
