What animals might have benefit if the passenger pigeon had not become extinct?

  1. Did any plants rely  on the passenger pigeon for transport of its seeds in the dropping of the bird?

    Some berry plants disperse seeds in this way.

    Or did any natural predators hunt the passenger pigeon before the arrival of humans.

    These are two systems the extinction of the bird could have altered.

  2. Humans benefited from the passenger pigeon. It was market hunting, without restriction that wiped out a bird that was so abundant that flocks covered miles of sky and their weight was enough to break tree limbs when they settled. Tha last one (Martha) died in 1906, as I recall,
