Passing Strange or In the Heights?

Question

Which show would be best to see on my next trip to NY? Which is more original? I don't love rap but have listened to some of the other songs for HEIGHTS and liked them. Passing strange has also gotten rave reviews. I need to know pronto so I can buy tickets for early August!!!! Thanks

I saw Passing Strange on Saturday afternoon and thought it was amazing.  Don't miss a chance to see this beautiful show!

ITH just won the tony for best musical, and they performed on the tony's and it was GREAT. I loved it. Passing Strange won a ton of tony's as well, and they also performed and well, that looked great too. But I think I'd see ITH...it just looks phenomenal.

If I were you, I'd choose In the Heights.

But that's my opinion.

Ok. I am atmy hotel right now and i just got back from seeing Passing Strange. I saw In the Heights for the matinee today, and Passing for the night show. I'll start with In the Heights:

It is a TERRIFIC musical, i really liked it, i thought I wouldn't but I really enjoyed it, Lin Manuel Miranda is AHMAHZINGGG....BUT I think Passing Strange was MUCH better. Stew tells you a tottally fantastic story, which isn't about his life [[so he says]] but imho i think its partly based on it. tonight was my 2nd time seeing the show, and i think it just gets better every time. Honestly, if you are judging it from the standpoint of who won more tonys' i don't think that is very good because, like...look at west side story, they didnt win best musical in their debut, but it was a HIT!!! I think that, in short, you would be better off seeing Passing Strange because the Orchestrations are amazing, the cast is AMAZINGLY FRIENDLY AND NICE [[so is lin manuel, but you knowww...that doesn';t always matter :]]] and the story is the BOMB~!

ooohhh and just so you know, this is in the perspective of a 12 year, but i saw both shows with my mom and she is 40 and she felt the same way :]
