Passing drills by yourself?

Hey guys, do you guys know of any good passing drills that you can do by yourself? I am trying to make the club volleyball team at my college and I am rusty. I am better than most high school passers but not up to par at the collegiate level. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  1. TWO DRILLS I KNOW OF

they are highly affective and have helped me alot.

    The first one:

pass to your self it a 4ft by 4ft square you cant step out of it and if you do you have to start over it really helps with control..

25 high passes to yourself then 25 middle higth passes to yourself and then 25 short passes to yourself.

    The second one:

get about 7-10 feet away from a wall. pick a spot on the wall( or make on with a peice of tape) and try to hit it every time. do about 75-100 of those.

then after that pass to the same spot then let it hit the ground and pass it again but letting it bounce everytime before you pass it.

    hope this makes sence!

    it really helped me.

  2. I never like doing things in practice that you don't do in games. I have never passed straight up in the air to myself in a game, therefore I try not to practice that way. Here's one I used for a long time:

    Passing Control Drill

Find a wall, throw the ball against the wall at varying speeds and heights and pass the ball back to the wall on a, premarked, "X" which would represent your setter.

To add something to the drill, have someone else throw the ball against the wall. This will truly vary the angles and speeds of the serve or attack.

While you don't throw the ball at a wall in a game, the wall can simulate a serve or hard-driven ball that you have to pass towards the wall (net) at the setter.

  3. pass up

    pass the set alternating

    set

pass or set against a wall

  4. i like basketball

  5. Here are a few (some require a partner)

    1. pass straight to yourself in the air, trying to keep it up

    2. pass pack and forth with a partner, aiming for their forehead each time

    3. pass to your partner, jog around them, pass agin, repeat

    4. stand a few feet away from a wall in defenseve position. have your partner stand behind you with the ball. while you are looking at the wall (NOT at your partner) have them toss the ball against the wall in any area, and you have to move to the ball and pass it back against the wall. it is very good for moving to the ball skills.

    5. pass once to yourself, pass to your partner. then, your partner passes to themself, and passes back to you. repeat.

6.pass against the wall, aiming for different target areas each time

    7. pass the ball as high as you can, quickly drop to the ground, and try to get back up in time to pass the ball again. this can help you with getting to the ball after a dive.

Remember. . .practice makes perfect! Hope this helps! Good luck! :)

    p.s. - Volleyball RULES!!!

  6. find a wall or something flat thats pretty tall, it makes a great second player.

  7. THERE IS A FUN BUT HARD ONE THAT I USE ALL THE TIME OK THIS IS HOW TO PLAY

    1. GET A BALL...

    2. PASS STRAIGHT UP TO YOUR SELF W/ BOTH HANDS TOGETHER...

    3. THEN PASS W/ ONE ARM STRAIGHT UP TO YOUR SELF

    4. THEN W/ THE OTHER ARM...

    5. THEN SETT IT UP TO YOURSELF...

    6. THEN HIT IT W/ YOUR HEAD IN THE AIR

    7. TRY TO REPEAT... THE MORE TIMES YOU REPEAT THE BETTER YOU GET...

    GOOD LUCK...

  8. just pass straight up to yourself and count how many you can get in a row then keep geting more in a row....also pass to a wall.....jugle the ball too it halps your control. :)good luck!
