Hi,

I am going on Holiday in 5 weeks and have lost my passport, dont want to risk the postal way of doing it as i am worried it may not come back in time, so i am going to do the fast track option where u go to a passport office and it is guaranteed 1 week service

I live in Cornwall and have to go all the way to London, has anybody used this service before and has it all run smoothly??

Thanks!

  1. i dont think it takes as long as u say. i renewed my daughter the normal way and it came back in 7 working days, yours should come back much sooner than a week.

    yeah i've heard its really reliable, dont forget you have to report your passport lost to the police first.

    enjoy yourself

  2. Well I know you do get charged extra it is usually 50-100 extra depending on where you live. It is recommended since you are leaving in 5 weeks for your trip. I would def use it, I hear it has a quick turn around.

  3. I haven't used the London one but I have used the Liverpool one and did the one where you get it that day as it's not much more to pay that te weekly service.  It went very smoothly - you go in with your paperwork etc, they check it which takes 3 mins, then you go and pay and then they tell you what time to come back.  When they call your number out when you go back they just give it to you - very worth while doing.  I'll be doing it like this everytime.

  4. Why not pop into your nearest Post Office where they will be able to give you more reliable advice. As long as you fill i n all the forms correctly, and have all the relevant documentation ( the post office will check all this for you for a small fee)..it may not take too long for it to come back anyway. As long as you state on the form what date you are due to travel, they will do their utmost to get the passport to you in time.......yeah....check it out with the P.O. first!

    EDIT;

    Better get something sorted fast!! Peterborough Passport office is to stage a three day strike, with others expected to follow suit!!! This could cause a backlog, making your application slower!!

    Good Luck!!
