Passport Help!!!?

Question

How long will it take for us to receive our passports if we apply for them tomarrow? My Aunt said that she got our cousin's in a week's time. Will that be true for us? Can we speed it up? We want to go to Mexico in 1 1/2 - 2 weeks, Will it be possible?

We are going to apply at the Post Office.

yea they say like 4-6 weeks but i got mine like in like 2 weeks...so yea it all depends on how slow or fast there moving.

There's always 2 ways of applying for Passport. One is to apply for passport just like usually you do, and another one is an express passport. The express passport is the same as usual passport, the difference is it's faster and more expensive (but you usually able to get it within a week).

I don't know which country you are, but I know that they have 'express passport application' in Australia and Indonesia, and they both offer you passport within a week time.

The only way you can get it fast is through one of those on-line processing site. If you go through the Post Office it can take months. We applied last April for a cruise we were going on in August and we "barely" made it in time. We had to use one of the sites for my husbands passport. It is much more expensive tho'. Once you start the process through the PO then you are stuck so decide before you go. Also you must have a "certified" copy of your birth cert. or you won't get a passport. The laws have changed so much in the last year.

That is pushing it but yes technically you can get your passport if you put on the application the date you intend to travel on with a copy of your ticket. If you go to a passport processing agency they can do it within a few hours.
