Question:

Passport checks in Britain?

I'm in the UK and only have a couple of months left to stay on my passport. I'd like to return, though, and am wondering what countries check passports at re-entry into the UK. I thought that Ireland would, but it's not looking like they do... I need my passport stamped so that I can (hopefully) stay another 6 months here before going all the way home to the US.

  1. They ALL check if arriving by air.  Be aware that it's 180 in/ 180 out --  you can not leave for a day to get a fresh tourist entry of 180 days.  The Republic of Ireland generally grants US citizens up to 90 days to play tourist, if that helps your situation.  Definitive summaries of entry requirements and length of stay here: http://www.delta.com/planning_reservatio...
