Passport for 2008? when does that take place?

january or in summer? i hear different things here! for car entry i know to fly u need it already but to get to the states in car or walkin....when?

You need a passport NOW to FLY to Canada or Mexico.  The requirement for passports for LAND and SEA travel has been delayed until SUMMER of 2008 at the earliest.  See website below and read the top half of the page very carefully to see the CURRENT announcement posted by the state dep't about one month ago.  It would be wise to go ahead and get a passport before the inevitable grand rush starts again.  See 2nd website for all passport application info.
