Passport for baby ? what is the procedure ? thanks for the response.?

Question

our 3 month old needs his passport within a month. is there any fastrack way to get the passport sooner ?

and since he is a kid, what is the procedure to put in the applications ?

do we ( me and my husband ) have to go in and sign when we apply ?

and what are the supporting documents to be attached ?

BOTH parents must be present. (or have noterized permission from absent parent)this to protect children from parents disputes and kids being taken without permission from both

birth certificate for child and parents

marriage certificate if it applies or proof that parent were together at time of conception

then they take pics and or you can bring pics (must fit size criteria) they normally do them at the place to get it done.

then you just fill out the forms their at the place where you get it done I have had to get 2 for my kids.

edit: dont forget the social security numbers very inportant to have

yes you can speed up the process but it cost about 80 bucks extra 2 to 3 weeks depending on you state sometimes faster

it is the same procedure as an adult.  Go get a passport photo done for your baby and fill in the forms at the post office, I'm not sure about how you could rush the procedure though they are so backed up.  Good luck!

Are you in the US? If so, you can get the passport in one day by paying an expidition fee. You have to go to one of the passport centers, and there aren't that many of them. Both parents have to be present, or the parent who isn't present has to have a notarized affadavit stating that he/she agrees to the child having a passport, etc.

You can only get a passport at a regional passpot center if you are travelling in 2  weeks orless, call for anappt andlive closeenough to one.  See 1st site below.  If you pay fee for expediting and the express mail fees, you can get a passport in 2 to 3 weeks after submiiting the forms at your local post office.  See 2nd site for all application info.
